The RMB, won and yen all strengthened against the dollar today. USD/CNY closed at 6.6760, down 0.0225; USD/KRW at 1324.13, down 0.1651; USD/JPY at 158.07, down 0.0506. EUR/USD also drifted back to around 1.1225. A softer dollar means dollar-quoted landed cargoes cost less once converted into RMB or won.

For SNSUC's transshipment clients, the won-settled portion of a Korean buyer's landed price gets cheaper, and domestic refiners paying in RMB shell out a bit less too. On the desk, reprice any order locked today against the new rates instead of yesterday's screen. A stronger yen also eases the procurement cost for Japanese end users, though STS anchorage freight is quoted in dollars and stays outside the currency move.
