The FX board split today. USD/CNY fell to 6.6870 (-0.0493) as the yuan strengthened; USD/KRW dropped 0.6037 to 1333.58 with the won firming in step; USD/JPY edged only 0.0063 higher to 157.99, leaving the yen almost flat. EUR/USD rose to 1.1239 and EUR/CNY to 7.5119.

A stronger yuan and won both ease CNY-denominated delivered cost directly — the same barrel of Brent converts into fewer yuan. A firmer won helps Korean refiners buy, opening a cost gradient among Asian buyers. The flat yen means Japanese buyers' cost is roughly unchanged, with neither fresh pressure nor cushion.

For SNSUC re-export quotes, FX is a multiplier, not an add-on. Under today's mix (CNY up, KRW up, JPY flat), the formula's FX factor must be recomputed at the bill-of-lading rate rather than the early-month 6.70 / 1340 / 158 brackets — otherwise Asian buyers see an inflated quote and the deal slips.
