The domestic board split cleanly today. Fuel oil at ¥5,405/t (+2.08%) and bitumen at ¥5,054/t (+3.29%) led the advance, while the rubber side looked superficially in step — natural rubber ¥19,570/t (+0.82%) and butadiene rubber ¥16,950/t (+3.32%) — but the near-flat NR print against a sharp BR gain signals weak tire-maker appetite for expensive NR.
SNSUC's data terminal tracks 13 commodity categories that cannot be forced onto one curve. The heavy-distillate chain (fuel oil, bitumen, crude-linked) is driven by geopolitical premium and refinery turnarounds; the rubber chain (NR, BR and downstream) is driven by tire-export order books and synthetic-rubber plant runs. The two have disjoint drivers, so blending them hides the inflection.
Operational read: quote fuel oil and bitumen to refiners on the heavy chain with a turnaround-season premium baked in; quote rubber to tire and product makers off NR spot premium and BR plant maintenance, not off crude moves.
